Circle of love
It started with my first breath
Looking up at a world that offered everything
But promised nothing
It is up to me to navigate my raft through the waters
Painful memories
Like raging rapids, stinging like bees and icy sleet
Yet there is a salve that warms and heals
It?s named love
It was built into my DNA by parents that had abundance
My most painful memories and the salve to rub on
Shutting down pain cells becomes easier
When the cells build walls of protection against the bees
River after river found me
Down one?up another
All the time stinging---building---teaching
Addictions turn into life--- life dabbles in depression
Depression is unacceptable
Another wall built
Marriage came and went
Drowning in its wake--- wealth and materialism
Friends, lovers and pets entered my life like the tides
In and out?in and out
The pets died
I forgive them
As my circle shrank
A peaceful aura arose
It?s easier to clean a smaller space
And its all still there
