Mă descriu ca I still want to try cliff diving, hang gliding and romance on a Mediterranean beach. I know I'll meet someone who wants to do new things with me and likes to laugh (a lot, I'm pretty funny). I'm in love with my 12 y/o daughter (she's a great kid) and hope to meet a person who knows how important my commitment to her is.

I also am committed to my family of adopted house mates (3 cats and a huge bloodhound mix puppy). I enjoy hiking, biking, camping, skiing, and canoeing but I'm not a jock. I do have a VERY odd sense of humor; sort of Monty Python meets Steven Wright meets John Stewart with a healthy (?) dose of Sarah Silverman meets Tony Soprano thrown in. What can I say, I love the absurd (good thing since life is so full of that)! I also am a bit of a news junkie and like to hop online for my daily fix of Washington and the world. I often have NPR on in the car but don't get to into financial news (probably why I'm NOT a millionaire).

I am a very caring and loyal friend. I'm open to new ideas and opinions but I am never afraid to speak my mind or to take constructive criticism. I finally learned that it is okay to be quiet: It's okay that it really is none of my business what other people think, say or do unless it directly relates to the health, safety and sanity of my family or myself.

I REALLY want to be friends with anyone I date and my perfect friend would be someone with the emotional maturity to know all relationships take both time and work. I don't eschew friendship. But I'm looking for a more permanent eventuality with a man who is as willing as I am to live each and every day to it's fullest (even if that means a day of contemplating ones belly-button)!

I am just at the beginning stage of divorce after a very long separation. It was love for a season and I need the freedom to bring that era to a close gently. A little possessiveness is fine (sweet, even) but obsessiveness and jealousy are right out.

I am ready to meet new people, try new things and, who knows, maybe put on a dress and some makeup (or a cowboy hat and riding boots or goggles and a chain saw etc, etc)!

Scopul meu în viață este To meet a soul mate who doesn't want to use me as a trophy (although this time around I'm a bit old to qualify, thankfully), doesn't need me to be his emotional crush and will help and encourage my daughter and myself toward personal achievements. I WANT to be spoiled but for me that entails the freedom do be me, grow as me and just get to share my own hopes, aspirations, fears and frustrations on an equal footing with my partner. We all have them, why do some people have to make it a contest?

Distracția pentru mine este Lots of things are fun the first time or even several times if experienced with different view points or company (a party cruise with the firm was WAY different that taking my 5 year old on a Disney Cruise 15 years later both were fun). Fun is also subjective. It's fun to do new things (still want someone to take me fishing in Alaska) but it's also great fun to show the one your with something new the brook behind my house in the early morning). Porn on fast forward with the sound off is fun in the ridiculous way. Riding a horse through Zion National is a meditative fun. Looking at myself in the mirror can be a hoot. Waking up next to someone you are gaga over and both of you giggling is WAY WAY fun (especially when there is some anticipation of what comes next).

I've seen a lot, done a lot and been to a lot of places. In the end I think the fun is the attitude of wonder, observation, exploration and participation I try to bring with me everywhere (even the grocery store). ;-)
