Jeg vil beskrive meg selv som I am an achieved and financially secure registered U.S. patent attorney with three Ivy League degrees and life experiences accumulated in four increasingly sophisticated careers of engineer-teacher, manager, lawyer in corporate practice, and lawyer in private practice in my own law firm these seventeen year past.

My life is balanced between work on behalf of interesting inventor clients -- and play where I particularly like to travel and to tour all the world's wonders ranging from natural phenomena to museums. I am always willing to take time for a child or a dog.

I am experienced, including in sophisticated matters, but neither pompous nor ostentatious. I have traveled completely around the world, and was most recently in China I have accumulated literally months below, on and above the sea in submarines, ships and aircraft, and have extensive familiarity with much of the U.S. coast as well as many inland regions.

In all locations I am an enthusiastic (1) diner in venues ranging from finer restaurants to street vendors, (2) participant in local culture and events, and (3) communicator with local people of all strata. I am comfortable with full foreign cultural immersion, foreign foods, and foreign people, and especially appreciate the convenience of Baja, Mexico for short get-aways.

With an extensive wardrobe ranging from cargo pants to tuxedos, I guess I can muster a classy appearance when I'm of a mind to do so, which is not always. Likewise, I endeavor to savor and enjoy, to share, to dress, and to eat the best; but I care little for newness and passing fashion, preferring classics (and antiques) both acclaimed and obscure THAT MAY BE, AND OFTEN ARE, USED. I almost never drive a new car and instead drive what I want and like, which often results in keeping cars into the realm of their deterioration. I own, for example, 1/2322 of the world's original supply of the 1962-64 Raymond Loewy Studebaker Avanti's.

I hope to be articulate, with compassion and humor. For example: I produce technical and legal writing at the highest level, but I also send humorous and self-deprecating Christmas letters reportedly enjoyed by all recipients. My e-mail boxes are full of both (1) sophisticated technical communications (attendant upon patent applications preparations, and litigations), and (2) warm personal communications, including abundant humor

I also hope to be friendly, but with little time for foolishness or formality. For example: I am still in mutually rewarding contact with many of the widespread friends of my life -- and believe (and have found) myself welcome to enter into their homes and drink their beer should I arrive unexpectedly in their absences; but I never play the sycophant to anyone.

I am adventurous, but not foolhardy. For example: I have driven, and occasionally still do drive, very fast, but mostly in sports cars with good tires and better brakes. I eat anything, but, alas, that MAY be changing with increasing age.

I hope to be sexy, with tenderness and loyalty and fidelity. For example: my personality and humor seem reasonably appealing to women, but I get no charge out of conquest for the sake of conquest. I was happily and faithfully married for twenty-nine years until widowed.

I am vigorous.

I am both physically and intellectually active; and VERY well-informed and knowledgeable about many sciences, technologies and business affairs, BUT completely ignorant of popular entertainments.

I hope always to show creativity; good judgment; honesty; fair dealing and the manners of a gentleman. BUT I have occasionally let slip intolerance of fools, and worse.

My interests and indulgences: include industrial and fine design; special-interest autos; ethnic and fine dining; and full foreign cultural immersion. For example, I have a 2K+ volume book library (now only but partially nicely housed in fine furniture), and am mercifully migrating to e-books.
